Capture Lite

Learn the basics of app installation, adding a camera, recording a capture, and uploading capture data + image files using Capture Lite.
Capture Process
Install Capture Lite
(For Android mobile devices with OS 10 & higher or iOS mobile devices.)
Here is how to install it:
- In the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, search for, "cupix capture".
- Tap on "Cupix Capture Lite".
- Tap on the "cloud & down arrow" icon to download and install the app.
- Once installed, tap on Open.
- When the message, "Allow Capture Lite to access photos and media on your device?" appears, choose your preference.
- Tap on the Get Started button.
- When the message, "Allow Capture Lite to access this device's location" appears, tap on While using the app. This is necessary to obtain the proper geographic location.
- Enter your team URL. (For example, "joesconstruction".) Tap Continue once entered.
- Enter your email and password. Tap Sign In once entered.
- Choose the project you will be capturing and tap on Confirm.
- The app will start downloading the project files onto your mobile device. Depending on the number of levels and reference plans, this could take a few minutes or more.
- You are now on the capture screen. Read each section below to learn how to record the site.
Start Capture
Explanation of capture screen options:
- Settings (gear icon) - Information listed:
- Current user profile logged into the app.
- Current Project - Switch between different projects.
- Sign Out - Switch between user profiles.
- App Version you are using.
- Screen Rotation - Tap to move the screen in 45° increments.
- Hide/Show Arrows - Tap to switch the directional arrows off and on.
- Change - Tap to switch between different reference plans and levels.
- Sync Capture - Capture Lite will automatically upload the capture data once a WiFi or cellular network is available to the mobile device. This screen will list recent captures that have been or need to be uploaded.
- Connect 360° Camera - Tap to connect to a camera's WiFi network.

Connect 360° Camera
How to connect to your camera:
- If not already done, turn the camera on and wait ~20 seconds.
- Tap on Connect 360° Camera.
- Tap on the camera model.
- Tap on Connect.
- The mobile device will initiate a connection:
- iOS devices ask you to Join.
- Android devices ask you to Connect.
- The camera is connected. Tap on Okay to continue.
- You can now choose a recording mode.

Choose Mode
There are 3 types of capture modes available:
- Video for 3D Map - Record up to 20 minutes of video to generate a virtual tour and 3D dollhouse of your capture.
- 360 Video - Record up to 60 minutes of video to generate a virtual tour.
- 360 Photo - Record a single image at a time to generate a manually positioned virtual tour.
To choose a capture mode:
1. Tap on the right-side down arrow (circled in the image) to view all three options.

2. Tap on a capture mode. (Video for 3D Map is the default.)

Record Video
Explanation of recording screen options:
- Screen Rotation - Move the screen in 45° increments.
- Hide/Show Arrows - Tap to switch the directional arrows off and on.
- Camera Model - The connected camera.
- Battery Charge - The camera's battery charge percentage. (We recommend starting with a fully charged battery.)
- Camera Storage Space - Total number of gigs you can record with the camera's SD card. (We recommend deleting older image files once uploaded to CupixWorks.)
- Change - Tap to switch between different reference plans and levels.
- Sync Capture - Capture Lite will automatically upload the capture data once a WiFi or cellular network is available to the mobile device. This screen will list recent captures that have been or need to be uploaded.
- Start Recording- Here is the primary recording process:
- Physically move to the place you marked with the crosshairs on the screen.
- Tap on Video for 3D Map or Video for Virtual Tour.
- Walk the site.
- Once finished, swipe the slider from left to right to stop recording.
- Tap on Video for 3D Map or Video for Virtual Tour to record another video or you can stop capturing.

Once you have completed all recordings for the day, it is time to upload them with Cupix Connect.
Record 360° Photo
Explanation of recording screen options:
- Screen Rotation - Move the screen in 45° increments.
- Hide/Show Arrows - Tap to switch the directional arrows off and on.
- Camera Model - The connected camera.
- Battery Charge - The camera's battery charge percentage. (We recommend starting with a fully charged battery.)
- Camera Storage Space - Total number of gigs you can record with the camera's SD card. (We recommend deleting older image files once uploaded to CupixWorks.)
- Change - Tap to switch between different reference plans and levels.
- Sync Capture - Capture Lite will automatically upload the capture data once a WiFi or cellular network is available to the mobile device. This screen will list recent captures that have been or need to be uploaded.
- Start Recording- Here is the primary recording process:
- Physically move to the place you marked with the crosshairs on the screen.
- Tap on 360° Photo.
- Repeat as needed.
- Once done taking 360° photos just stop.

Once you have completed all recordings for the day, it is time to upload them with Cupix Connect.
Upload
The upload process consists of 2 parts:
- Upload & sync the "capture data" (info about your camera's location) on the servers.
- Upload the image files to the servers.
Here is how:
- Disconnect from the camera's WiFi in Settings.
- Allow Capture Lite to automatically sync the capture data.
- See Upload 360° Photos or Videos for instructions on using the Connect desktop app to upload all your image files.
