Updating Camera Firmware

Instructions for Updating

Links for instructions on updating firmware:

* = Once you update the firmware for the Insta360 One X2, the USB Mode might reset to Android Mode. To switch it back to U-Disk or Desktop Mode:

  1. Touch the screen and swipe down
  2. Swipe left.
  3. Tap on the gear icon (Settings) -> General -> USB Mode.
  4. Change it to U-Disk or Desktop Mode.

IMPORTANT NOTE!

Please reboot your iOS mobile device after you update the camera's firmware when using the vendor's app. Vendor apps compete with Cupix Capture App for the WiFi network, which can cause connection issues.


Identify the Camera Firmware Version and Serial Number

Insta360

Insta360 cameras appear in your mobile device WiFi or Capture App listings as follows:

  • The camera model.
  • The last four digits of the Serial Number.
  • It is always followed by ".OSC". (The acronym OSC stands for One Shot Color, and indicates that the camera takes full-color images in single shots.)

Example: ONE R 6R99V2.OSC


One R, One RS, and One RS 1-Inch 360 Edition

This is how to find the Firmware Version and Serial Number:

  1. Hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn it on.
  2. Swipe down on the touchscreen.
  3. Swipe left.
  4. Tap on the Settings gear icon on the bottom left.
  5. Swipe up until you reach Camera Info and tap on it.
  6. The Firmware Version and Serial Number (SN) will now appear.


One X

The Firmware Version is only visible in the Insta360 App. This is how to find the Serial Number:

  1. Hold the power button (bottom small button) for 2 seconds to turn it on.
  2. Press the power button until you see the Settings gear icon.
  3. Press the enter button (large top button).
  4. Press the enter button again until you see About on the screen.
  5. Press the power button once to highlight About.
  6. Press the enter button.
  7. The numbers shown are the Serial Number.


One X2

This is how to find the Firmware Version and Serial Number:

  1. Hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn it on.
  2. Swipe down on the touchscreen.
  3. Swipe left.
  4. Tap on the Settings gear icon on the bottom right.
  5. Swipe up until you reach Camera Info and tap on it.
  6. The Firmware Version and Serial Number (Camera Name) will now appear.

X3

This is how to find the Firmware Version and Serial Number:

  1. Hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn it on.
  2. Swipe down on the touchscreen.
  3. Tap on the Settings gear icon on the bottom center.
  4. Tap on Camera Info.
  5. The Firmware Version and Serial Number (S/N) will now appear.


Ricoh

Ricoh Theta cameras appear in your mobile device WiFi or Capture App listings as follows:

  • The word "THETA".
  • The complete Serial Number.
  • It is always followed by ".OSC". (The acronym OSC stands for One Shot Color, and indicates that the camera takes full-color images in single shots.)

Example: THETAYN10230046.OSC


Theta X

The Serial Number is on the bottom of the camera and in the touchscreen settings:

  1. Hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn it on.
  2. Swipe down on the touchscreen to enter Settings.
  3. Swipe up until you see Camera Information, then tap on it.
  4. The Firmware Version and Serial Number will now appear.


Theta Z1

The Serial Number is on the bottom of the camera. Here is how to find the Firmware Version:

  1. Hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn it on.
  2. Press both the WiFi and Fn buttons at the same time until it displays the Firmware Version.
