SiteView Grid Overlay

SiteView Grid Overlay

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Introduction

In construction, grids serve as the universal language for spatial orientation, coordination, and ensuring design integrity across disciplines. Our new Grid Overlay feature transforms how you navigate as-built virtual sites across all phases:

  • Use interactive grid overlays on 3D as-built virtual sites.
  • Seamlessly visualize design layers in an as-built context.
  • Take precise grid-based measurements on 2D plans.

Key Benefits for Construction Professionals:

  • Enhanced location awareness and purposeful navigation.
  • An instant sense of scale within 3D as-built environments.
  • Facilitates collaboration with easy-to-identify location references.

Note: Grids are extracted from your project BIM files.

Using Grid Overlay

Here is how to enable and use grid overlays:

  1. In your SiteView, click on Layers  on the left side menu.
  2. Click on the toggle to enable it.
  3. Once enabled, you can adjust the base plan lift or leave it at the default setting.
  4. Click on Layers again to close the list & start using Grids. Here is an example of what it looks like:
  5. In the Plan Viewer, click on the coordinate intersection (ex. 17, E) to jump directly to it.
  6. Once at the coordinate intersection, you can, for example, pinpoint misalignments, take measurements, coordinate where to make adjustments, and communicate with teammates using the Annotations feature.
