Ricoh Theta X Basic Setup

Connect to Camera WiFi Network
Identify Camera SSID
Find the default camera WiFi SSID and password.
On the bottom of the camera, the serial number is printed on the right side - this is used as the SSID and password.
- The password is the number indicated by (A).
In this example, the password is "00001017". - The SSID is "Theta + serial number indicated by (B) + .OSC".
In this example, the SSID is "THETAYR00001017.OSC".
Connect Camera to iOS Mobile Device
- On your mobile device, access Settings > Wi-Fi.
- Select the Ricoh Theta X SSID.
- Enter the password.
- Confirm that the camera WiFi network is connected.
Connect Camera to Android Mobile Device
- On your mobile device, access Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi.
- Select the Ricoh Theta X SSID.
- Enter the password.
- Confirm that the camera WiFi network is connected.
Additional Tips
Video Settings
Here are the settings required to record a site without TwinCapture.
- Switch the camera to "Video" mode (light blue circle below).
- In "Shooting" settings (orange circle above):
- Tap to turn off both Top/Bottom correction for shooting and CT Settings.
- Tap on Video size, select 5.7K 2fps, & hit the back arrow.
- Tap on Bit rate, confirm 12Mbps, & hit the back arrow.
- Tap on Maximum recording time, select 25 min., & hit the back arrow.
Camera Settings
Here are the settings for connecting the camera to TwinCapture.
- Swipe down to enter the camera settings:
- Confirm that the camera has WiFi & Bluetooth (green circles below) turned on.
- Tap on Client mode, tap to turn it off, & hit the back arrow.
You should see "AP" next to the WiFi beacon after making the change.
Optional Settings
- Turn off Power saving mode.
- Check the Camera information to verify that the firmware is up to date.

Camera Memory Options
- This camera has 46GB onboard storage and supports the use of a microSDXC memory card (64 GB or more; compatible with the UHS-I interface, Video Speed Class V30, and exFAT format).
- When you use a microSD card for storage, the camera will record on it before using onboard storage. See this Ricoh support article for more.
