Introduction
A work area is a designated space that facilitates efficient workflow by organizing tasks and teams into clearly defined zones. This structure improves task execution, simplifies management, and allows for easier monitoring and adjustments, enhancing overall productivity in various work environments.
SiteView Work Areas give you unprecedented control and flexibility:
- Draw custom work areas with polylining tools on each level.
- Group work areas for targeted purposes.
- Verify area-specific as-built conditions across various sub-contractors.
- Visualize areas in the ground-work period.
- Track BIM installation progress per area.
- Define security zones.
- Organize maintenance areas.
Explore as-built spatial context through area-based breakdowns. Visualize work areas across multiple views:
- 2D reference plans.
- 3D virtual tours.
- 3D dollhouse mode.

Using Work Areas
Here is how to enable and use Work Areas:
- In your SiteView, click on Layers on the left side menu.
- Click on the toggle to enable it.
- Once enabled, here are your choices for making adjustments:
- Base Plane Lift - Adjust the distance between the base floor and the project 3D views.
- Fill Color - Apply a solid color to the Work Area in the 3D views.
- Groups- Each Work Area is contained within a Group. You select the Group you want to view from the drop-down list.
- Click on Layers again to close the list & start using Work Areas. Here is an example of what it looks like:
- In the Plan Viewer, click inside a Work Area to move to a pano within.
