BIM 360 and ACC Integration

Introduction

CupixWorks integrates with Autodesk BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC for short). Once integrated with the CupixWorks web platform, you can work with BIM 360/ACC models and issue tracking.

If you have BIM 360 and ACC accounts, you can share documents with CupixWorks from either account. 


Administration

Required steps for BIM360:

  1. BIM 360 Account Admin installs Cupix app in BIM 360 account.
  2. BIM 360 Project Admin integrates Cupix project with BIM 360 project on CupixWorks.


Required steps for ACC:

  1. ACC Account Admin installs Cupix app in ACC account.
  2. ACC Project Admin or Project Member integrates Cupix project with ACC project on CupixWorks.


Connect to CupixWorks Project

BIM360

To connect a BIM 360 project to a CupixWorks project:

  1. From the BIM 360 Account Admin homepage, click on Apps
  2. Scroll down until you see the CupixWorks app, then click on it. 

  3. Click on Add to BIM 360
  4. Click on Authorize to connect your BIM 360 documents with CupixWorks.
  5. From the CupixWorks Project Center, click on Integrations . If the project has not been linked to BIM 360, within the BIM 360 dialogue box the 'Linked BIM 360 Project' status will appear as 'not set'.
  6. From the ACC & BIM360 box, click Link ACC & BIM 360 Project. The ability to sign into BIM 360 will appear in a separate popup window.
  7. Enter your Autodesk BIM 360 email and password and click Sign In.
  8. Click Allow to enable CupixWorks to access your BIM 360 account from the' Authorize application' screen.
  9. From the 'Choose BIM 360 Project' window:
    1. Select your BIM 360 account from the drop-down list.
    2. Click on the project name.
    3. Click on the Link button.

Your project is now linked to the selected BIM 360 project as seen listed after 'Linked ACC & BIM360 Project'.


ACC

To connect an ACC project to a CupixWorks project:

  1. From the Account Admin homepage, click on Apps. 
  2. Scroll down until you see the CupixWorks app, then click on it.
  3. Click on Install.
  4. Click on Authorize and Install to connect your ACC files with CupixWorks.


Integrations in Project Admin Center


From the Project Admin Center:

  1. Click on Integrations  .
  2. From the ACC & BIM360 box, click Link ACC & BIM360 Project. The ability to sign into ACC will appear in a separate popup window.
  3. Enter your email and password and click Sign In.
  4. Click Allow to enable CupixWorks to access your account from the' Authorize application' screen.
  5. From the 'Choose Autodesk Construction Cloud Project' window:
    1. Select your account from the drop-down list.
    2. Click on the project name.
    3. Click on the Link button.

Your project is now linked to the selected project as seen listed after 'Linked ACC & BIM360 Project'.


Whichever Autodesk account you use, the ACC & BIM360 box will look something like this after connected:


Create ACC & BIM360 Annotations Group

Once you have linked to your ACC/BIM360 project, you need to create an Annotation Group for it as follows:

  1. From the same Project Setup page, click on Annotation Groups.
  2. Click on the New Annotation Group button.
  3. Give your group a name, then click Next.
  4. Skip Allowed Forms by clicking Next. (This is used for custom forms, not ACC/BIM360.)
  5. Toggle 'Add ACC & BIM360 forms' on, then click Next.
  6. Click Save and Close.

You can now add annotations in SiteView for your project.
