Insta360 X5 Firmware version 1.10.7 — Manual Update Required
Note: This process must be completed on a desktop or laptop computer. If you are viewing this article on a mobile device, switch to your computer before proceeding. Downloading the firmware file (.BIN) to a phone or tablet will not work.
Note: During the firmware update, your camera may display a message indicating that the SD card is unsupported and needs to be reformatted. DO NOT reformat the SD card if it contains captures that have not yet been uploaded. Back up all capture data to your computer before proceeding.
Note: The recent release of firmware version 1.10.11 from Insta360 DOES NOT address the camera sync issue. Cupix recommends that users continue using the firmware we have provided below.
Cause: A defect in Insta360 X5 firmware version 1.10.7 (released January 31, 2026) causes frame sync errors between lenses, resulting in misaligned panoramas in SiteView.
Who Is Affected: Users who have updated their Insta360 X5 to firmware version 1.10.7.
Check Your Firmware Version: To confirm whether you are affected, check your current firmware version using either method below.
- TwinCapture — Connect your camera to the TwinCapture app. The firmware version will be displayed in the camera information screen.
- Camera Settings — On the camera, swipe down on the touchscreen and tap the Settings icon (upper right) → Camera Info. The current firmware version will appear.
A fixed firmware version has been released. Follow the steps below to manually install it.
Installation Steps
- Download the firmware file version 1.11.100 from the link.
- Connect your camera to your computer via USB. For instructions on connecting your camera to a computer, see Download Image Files from a Camera.
- Copy the firmware file to the root of the camera's microSD card (not inside any folder).
- Safely eject the camera from your computer.
- Turn the camera off, then back on. The camera will detect the file and install it automatically.
- Wait for installation to complete. The camera will restart when finished.
Verify the Firmware Version
- Swipe down on the touchscreen and tap the Settings icon (upper right).
- Tap Camera Info and confirm the firmware version matches the one provided by your CSM.
