Introduction
Cupix Reality Importer is an Autodesk Revit plug-in that imports point cloud data captured in CupixWorks directly into your Revit project.
Starting with version 1.1.1, Reality Importer supports Cupix Alignment Data — an optional JSON file exported from CupixWorks that places the imported point cloud at the exact position aligned with your BIM model. With Alignment Data, no manual placement is required.
- Supported Revit versions: 2024, 2025, 2026
- Supported point cloud formats: CPC, PLY, E57, XYZ
- Optional alignment file: Cupix Alignment Data (.json)
Install Cupix Reality Importer
- Open the Autodesk App Store. (Direct link to the app: Cupix Reality Importer)
- Search for Cupix Reality Importer.
- Click Download and run the installer for your Revit version (2024, 2025, or 2026).
- Restart Revit if it was running during installation.
Import Point Cloud Data
- Open your Revit project.
- Go to the Add-Ins tab → External Tools → Cupix Reality Importer.
- The Cupix Reality Importer dialog opens. Fill in the fields:
- Point Cloud File Required — Select a CPC, PLY, E57, or XYZ file.
- Cupix Alignment Data Optional — Select the JSON file exported from CupixWorks (see next section). When provided, the point cloud is automatically placed in the exact position aligned with your BIM.
- Click Import.
Note: If you imported with Alignment Data, the point cloud appears precisely aligned to the BIM coordinates. Without it, you may need to position the point cloud manually using Revit's standard tools.
Export Alignment Data from CupixWorks
