Introduction
CupixWorks supports integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Autodesk BIM 360, enabling you to link a CupixWorks project to an ACC/BIM 360 project and manage Autodesk issues directly from SiteView using annotations.
This integration streamlines issue tracking by allowing teams to document and sync field conditions with 360° visual context—helping maintain alignment across platforms while minimizing manual coordination.
Note: For BIM models to appear in CupixWorks through this integration, 3D Views must be enabled in the Revit publish settings before the model is published to ACC or BIM 360.
How to Integrate ACC/BIM 360 with CupixWorks
To enable ACC/BIM 360 integration in CupixWorks, both Autodesk and CupixWorks admins must complete the following steps:
- In Autodesk – An ACC/BIM 360 Account Admin installs the CupixWorks app.
- In CupixWorks – A Project Admin links the Autodesk project and creates an Annotation Group with ACC/BIM 360 forms enabled.
Step 1: Install CupixWorks App in Autodesk
An Account Admin must install the CupixWorks app in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or BIM 360.
- Sign in to your Autodesk Account as an Account Admin.
- From the account homepage, go to the Apps section.
- Scroll down and select the CupixWorks app.
- Click Install, then click Authorize and Install to complete the setup.
Note: The installation process is similar for both ACC and BIM 360, though the user interface may vary slightly.
Step 2: Link Autodesk Project to CupixWorks
After the app is installed, a CupixWorks Project Admin must link the Autodesk project.
- For ACC, Autodesk Project Admin or Project Member access is needed.
- For BIM 360, Autodesk Project Admin access is required.
- In CupixWorks, go to the Project Setup in Project Admin Center and click Integrations.
- Under the ACC/BIM 360 section, click Link to ACC/BIM 360 Project.
- Sign in with your Autodesk credentials when prompted.
- Click Allow to authorize access.
- In the project selection window, select your Autodesk account and choose the project you want to link.
- Click Link to complete the connection.
Once linked, the project name will appear in the integration status.
Step 3: Create ACC/BIM 360 Annotation Group
To enable issue tracking through SiteView, create an Annotation Group connected to your ACC/BIM 360 integration.
- From Project Setup, go to Annotation Groups.
- Click New Annotation Group.
- Enter a group name and click Next.
- Skip the Allowed Forms section by clicking Next.
- Toggle on Add ACC/BIM 360 Forms, then click Next.
- Click Save and Close to finish.
You can now create and manage Autodesk Issues and RFIs in SiteView using annotations.
Manage ACC/BIM 360 Issues and RFIs in SiteView
Once the integration is complete and an Annotation Group is configured, you can create Autodesk Issues and RFIs directly using the Annotations feature in SiteView.
Note:
- Only annotations created in SiteView are synced with ACC/BIM 360. Existing issues or RFIs created in Autodesk are not imported into CupixWorks.
- To create Issues or RFIs, you also need the appropriate permissions in the linked ACC or BIM 360 project.
Sign in with Your ACC/BIM 360 Account
You must be signed in with your ACC/BIM 360 account to create or refresh Issues and RFIs in SiteView.
- Open the
left menu and go to
Integration Status.
- Click Sign In next to the ACC/BIM 360 section.
- Sign in with your Autodesk credentials and allow access when prompted.
Create Issues and RFIs in SiteView
- Open the
Annotations panel from the left menu.
- Navigate to the desired location in SiteView and click
Add Annotation within the Annotation Group linked to an ACC/BIM 360 form.
-
Select the form type (Issue or RFI), then fill out the required fields to document the issue directly on the 360° capture.
Note: For more details on creating annotations, refer to the Annotations article.
-
Click Save to create the annotation. Once created, the Issue or RFI will be viewable in both SiteView and ACC/BIM 360.
Note: A SiteView deep link is automatically added to the Question field in ACC, or the Description field in BIM 360, directing users to the exact location where the annotation was created.
Sync and Refresh Data
Annotations linked to ACC/BIM 360 forms support one-way field synchronization from Autodesk after creation:
- Updates made in SiteView during creation are automatically reflected in ACC/BIM 360.
- After creation, the form fields become read-only in SiteView and can only be edited in ACC/BIM 360.
- Changes made in ACC/BIM 360 can be reflected in SiteView by clicking the
Update button.
Form fields are automatically mapped based on the linked Autodesk project configuration:
- Custom fields defined in ACC/BIM 360 are fully supported.
- Fields not exposed via Autodesk APIs are not supported in SiteView, including:
- Ball in Court
- Location - Description only
- Discipline
- Category
