Introduction
Archiving a project helps manage your storage by freeing up space for new projects while keeping older ones accessible in read-only mode. This article explains how to archive a project and important details about archived projects.
Access and Behavior of Archived Projects
When you move a project from Active to Archived status, it frees up space for new projects under your license. See the details below for how archived projects behave and what actions are allowed.
- Only Team License users can archive projects.
- Archived projects do not count toward the Space Quota.
- The archivable project size is unlimited.
- Projects must remain active for at least 12 months before archiving becomes available.
- Archived projects are read-only — you can still view SiteViews, but you cannot add or edit captures, create annotations, export data, or perform other editing actions.
Note: After retrieving a project from Archived status, you can resume editing and data export as normal.
How to Archive a Project
- Click the
Account Settings icon in the upper-right corner, then select Settings.
- In the left menu, click
License. From the project list, find the project you want to archive, select it, and click Archive Project on the right sidebar.
- In the confirmation dialog, click Archive to complete the process.
Note:
- To retrieve an archived project, select the archived project from the list and click Retrieve Project to reactivate it. Once retrieved, you can add or edit captures, make annotations, export data, or perform other editing actions as usual.
- For Workspace License users, refer to Expired and Suspended Workspace Licenses for more information.
