IMPORTANT NOTE: Capture App will be phased out and replaced with Capture Lite by the end of 2023. Please download, install, and use Capture Lite. If you need training, please contact your CSM.

Capture Process
Add a 360° Camera
Add a 360° camera to your mobile device:
Install Capture App
(For iOS mobile devices)
Here is how to install it:
- In the Apple App Store, search for, "cupix capture".
- Tap on "Cupix Capture App".
- Tap on the "cloud & down arrow" icon to download and install the app.
- When the Capture App opens, make sure to choose from the following options:
- Allow "Cupix Capture" to use your location? - Choose Allow While Using App. This is necessary to obtain the proper geographic location.
- Allow "Cupix Capture" to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites? - Choose based on your privacy requirements.
- "Cupix Capture" Would like to send you notifications - Choose based on your needs.
- Enter your team URL. For example, "joesconstruction". Tap Next once entered.
- Enter your email and password. Tap Next once entered.
- Go through the tutorial as follows:
- Read the quick explanation of what a capture is & tap Next.
- Choose a Workspace:
- Tap on Workspace on the left.
- Tap on the Workspace.
- Once you see a checkmark next to it, tap on Close.
- Once you see your Workspace on the right side, tap Next.
- Download project files:
- Tap on the project you will be working on. A checkmark will appear on the left next to it.
- Tap on the Download button. Depending on the number of levels and reference plans, this could take a few minutes or more.
- Once the project files are downloaded, tap on Next.
- Set the unit of measure. Once selected, tap on Next.
- Add a camera now or later. If adding now, make sure to read how to connect the One X2 camera or One RS 1-inch camera to the mobile device first:
- Tap on the Register 360° Camera button.
- For the message, "Cupix Capture would like to find and connect to devices on your local network", please tap on Allow.
- If you see the message, "Failed to find WiFi connected 360° camera", tap on Open iPhone Settings to either add or locate the camera in the WiFi listing. Select the camera, then tap on < Cupix Capture in the upper left corner.
- Tap on Add on the right.
- Once the camera is listed, tap on Done.
- Swipe the screen down and tap on Finish.
- You are now on the Capture screen.
Start Capture
Tap on the New Capture button.
Explanation of capture screen options:
- 3 blue dots:
- Add Label - Tap to add a label that appears in SiteView.
- Capture List - Tap to view existing Captures or add blank Captures.
- Reference Plans:
- Tap on the reference plan you want to use. (Live Map is the default if no reference plans are published.)
- Tap on Done.
- Sketch Layers - Turn sketch layers on and off.
- Map Selection - Choose between Street View and Satellite View.
- Zoom Reset - Tap to return the view to the default zoom level after you have moved the map around.
- Location Center - Tap to re-center the view on the camera location.
- Change Level - Tap to change to a different level.
- Capture New Area- Tap to choose a recording mode on the next screen.
Choose Mode
There are 3 types of capture modes available:
- Video for 3D Map - Record up to 20 minutes of video to generate a virtual tour and 3D dollhouse of your capture.
- Video for Virtual Tour - Record up to 60 minutes of video to generate a virtual tour.
- 360° Photo - Record a single image at a time to generate a manually positioned virtual tour.
Record Video
Explanation of recording screen options:
- Screen Rotation - Move the screen in 45° increments.
- Map Selection - Choose between Street View and Satellite View.
- Zoom Reset - Tap to return the view to the default zoom level after you have moved the map around.
- Location Center - Tap to re-center the view on the camera location.
- Camera Model - The connected camera.
- Battery Charge - The camera's battery charge percentage. (We recommend starting with a fully charged battery.)
- Hours - Total number of hours you can record with the camera's SD card. (We recommend deleting older image files once uploaded to CupixWorks.)
- Mark and Start Recording- Here is the basic recording process:
- Physically move to the place you marked with the crosshairs on the screen.
- Tap on Mark and Start Recording.
- Walk the site.
- Once finished, swipe the slider from left to right to stop recording.
- Move the crosshairs to the place you stopped walking.
- Tap on Mark Final Position.
- Tap Capture Another Area to record another video OR tap Save and Quit to stop.
Once you have completed all recordings for the day, it is time to upload them.
Record 360° Photo
Explanation of recording screen options:

- Physically move to the place you marked with the crosshairs on the screen,
- Tap on Mark and Shoot.
- Repeat as needed.
- Once done taking 360° photos, swipe the bottom menu up and tap End.
- Tap Go Back to Capture Home.
Delete Capture or Area
Delete Capture
To delete a capture (includes all recorded areas):
- Tap on
Capture icon at the bottom.
- Tap on Continue Capture.
- Swipe the lower menu up until it fills the entire screen.
- Tap on DELETE THIS CAPTURE.
To delete a single area (video or single shot):
- Tap on
Capture icon at the bottom.
- Tap on Continue Capture.
- Swipe the lower menu up until it fills the entire screen.
- Swipe the Video or Single (Shot) area from right to left until the red Delete button appears.
- Tap the red Delete button.
- Tap Delete in the confirmation window.
Upload
The upload process consists of 2 parts:
- Upload & sync the "capture data" (data on where the image was taken) on the servers.
- Upload the image files to the servers.
Here is how:
- Disconnect from the camera's WiFi in Settings.
- Tap Upload
on the Captures screen.
- Tap Start.
- Once all capture data is uploaded, tap Close.
- See Upload 360° Photos or Videos for instructions on using the Connect desktop app to upload all your image files.
