FAQ: 360° Photos Are Not Uploading Or Upload Very Slowly

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Basic Capture Submission Process

A site is captured using the Cupix Capture App (installed on a iOS device) and 360° camera. There are 2 types of data captured:

  • Capture Data (information about the location of the shot, etc.)
  • Imagery (360° photos and videos)

When you have completed your daily capture, the data is to be submitted to the CupixWorks application from the Capture App. The CupixWorks application associates the Capture Data with the 360° photo and video files. Once combined, a 3D tour of the panos can be built with further annotations and markup.

Common Issues

Sometimes, there are issues that can cause capture submissions to slow down or stop altogether. Here are some common questions and answers for dealing with these issues:

Question: If the Wi-Fi on site is good, but the captures are large and slow down my device, what should I do?

Answer: Submit the Capture Data first, then upload the photos using the Connect App -> Upload 360° Photos option when off site.

Question: If the Wi-Fi on site is poor or non-existent, how can I submit the captures from that day?

Answer: Take your device to an location with good Wi-Fi to complete the submission process, or better yet, use the Connect App -> Upload 360° Photos option.

Question: If the camera is having difficulty uploading photos on site, what should I do?

Answer: Take your device to an location with good Wi-Fi to complete the submission process, or better yet, use the Connect App -> Upload 360° Photos option.

Question: Why does my upload slow down or stop on my iPhone or iPad device?

Answer: The most common reasons for this are:

  • The Wi-Fi signal is too weak or the speed too slow.
  • The Capture App window has been closed or you have opened another app.
  • The iPhone or iPad device was turned off before the upload was completed.

Solution:

  • If the Wi-Fi coverage doesn't allow for a large data upload, try to submit only the capture data now and upload the photos using the Connect App -> Upload 360° Photos option later.
  • When submitting photos from the Capture App, keep the app in front of all other apps on your device until the upload is complete.
  • Leave the device on during the entire submission upload process.

Question: When using the CupixWorks web platform with my browser, why does my upload slow down or stop entirely?

Answer: The most common reasons for this are:

  • The tab for uploading to CupixWorks is out of view while working in another tab in the same browser window.
  • The browser handling the upload has been minimized or closed.
  • The computer was turned off before the upload was completed.

Solution:

  • When uploading image files to CupixWorks, keep the upload tab displayed until the upload is complete.
  • Leave the browser up and open during the entire submission upload process.
  • Keep the computer on during the entire submission upload process.
