Annotation Group Administration

Annotation Group Administration

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Users who regularly create new projects may wind up with a large number of form templates after an extended period of time. When SiteView users want to create a new annotation in SiteView, they may need to scroll through many forms that are not relevant to their use cases or projects to find the form they need. To help each user focus on the annotation forms they need to use, admins can set up Annotation Groups and designate specific forms users can pick from when creating new annotations.

Note: you can import or export Annotation Groups from one Project to another.

Add Annotation Group

A new Project comes with two default Annotation Groups: Notes and Issues.

To add an Annotation Group:

  1. In Project Center, click on Annotation Groups  .
  2. Click on New Annotation Group.
  3. Enter the name of the group & hit Next.
  4. Select a form by left clicking and dragging it into the Allowed Forms field. Choose as many as you want and then click on Next.
  5. If you have created forms in BIM 360, Procore, or PlanGrid, then toggle it on. If not, ignore the sliders. Either way, click Next to continue.
  6. If everything looks correct, click Save and Close. If not, click on Back to make changes and then return to complete the process.

Edit Annotation Group

To edit an Annotation Group:

  1. In Project Center, click on Annotation Groups .
  2. Double left click on the Annotation Group name.
  3. Make any changes to the Name, Allowed Forms, and/ or Integrations. Click on Save and Close.

Import Annotation Group

IMPORTANT! You must either create a new Form Template or import the Form Template JSON file prior to importing the Annotation Group JSON file.

To import an Annotation Group:

  1. In Project Center, click on Annotation Groups .
  2. Click on Import.
  3. Select the JSON file that contains the Form Template, then click on Open.
  4. The imported Annotation Group will appear at the top of the list.

Export Annotation Group

To export an Annotation Group:

  1. In Project Center, click on Annotation Groups .
  2. Left click on the Annotation Group name.
  3. Click on the Info about the selected item icon  .
  4. Click on Export. The file will be placed into download folder.
  5. You are done. You can click elsewhere.

Annotation Groups in SiteView

Users can only add annotations to Annotation Groups in SiteView using the preset list of Form Templates already set up. They cannot create new groups in SiteView.
