What’s new in CupixWorks?

We’ve added new features to make jobsite management and documentation in Procore easier by integrating with SiteView, and made improvements to CupixWorks that make adding new reference plans a breeze and viewing capture information easy to understand in a detailed table!

Integrate with Procore

Linking Construction Management with Our 3D Spatial Reference

Procore integration is now available to all users. Treat our 3D Digital Twins as your virtual jobsite, walk through them in any linked SiteView, and:

  • Create, access, and generate reports from Procore punch lists, RFIs, and observations from SiteView.
  • Open the automatically generated SiteView deeplink in Procore to view the exact location a Procore issue was created within SiteView to gain spatial context and understanding.
  • Use markups to clarify Procore issues by adding annotated SiteView photographs to the Procore RFIs, observations, and punch lists.

New Reference Plan Wizard

Never Forget a Single Step When Getting Ready for Collaboration

Designed to be efficient and user-friendly, our new wizard walks you through each step of setting up a reference plan during file upload. Our new feature lets you and your team:

  • Upload JPEG or PNG images, or PDFs that hold construction plans.
  • Save and use plans from PDFs previously uploaded to CupixWorks.
  • Perform all essential edits during reference plan upload - scaling, setting coordinates, rotating, and hiding unneeded portions of a plan.
  • Immediately use new reference plans in SiteView and the Capture App with automatic publishing.

Granular Capture Detail Page

Access Areas and View Metadata from One Convenient Table

We've improved how capture data is displayed within CupixWorks by adding a new Capture Detail Page. Designate specific areas to open within the Capture Editor, or easily view and update metadata and SiteView properties. The new Capture Detail Page:

  • Displays capture areas on a reference plan exactly as they were marked in the Capture App.
  • Tabulates the capture method used, number of panos, processing status, and the SiteView settings (publishing, measurement readiness) for each area.
  • Allows users to publish each area and enable measurement readiness in SiteView efficiently from one location.
  • Offers the option to select specific areas to open and edit within the Capture Editor.

Additional Features and Improvements

Cupix is always looking for ways to increase usability, and we've implemented many new features, improvements, and bugfixes. Check out the following improvements that are included in this update:

Team Signup

  • Users can no longer enter uppercase characters as part of their team URL. Previously, users could enter upper case characters as part of their team URL, which would return an error after the URL creation.

Project Center - Reference Plans

  • New Feature: You can now designate a reference plan as the default in SiteView. To do so, within Project Center > Reference Plan, click the name of the reference plan and click the slider next to Default in SiteView so it turns blue. To set a different reference plan as the default, click the name of the new reference plan, and click the slider so it turns blue.

Capture Detail Page

  • To avoid user confusion, the option to enable Single-Shot capture areas as 'Measure Ready' has been removed. The ability to accurately take measurements in SiteView is dependent on 1. The CupixWorks algorithm spatially aligning multiple panos relative to each other and 2. Capture area scaling. Single-Shot capture areas are manually positioned on the reference plan by the user, and capture area scaling requires at least two panos, therefore Single-Shot capture areas cannot fulfill these two requirements.

Uploading

  • A 1 GB total file size limit is now implemented when uploading panos or videos to create an area from the web uploader.
  • A new upload status 'Pending Upload' now displays for files that have been selected for upload but are not currently uploading. This applies to the 'Upload for Process-Pending Captures' option.

SiteView

  • In SiteView, the Navigate Back and Navigate Forward commands can now be used to retrace up to 100 steps (panos).
  • Markup image resolution is doubled to improve visibility of objects within the markup image (ie: measurement values.)

Integrations (BIM, Procore)

  • Within the list of BIM in a CupixWorks project, any BIM file added via web upload will have N/A as the version now. BIM files imported from BIM 360 will display the corresponding BIM 360 version.
  • BIM 360 and Procore annotations and annotation groups have a sync function that automatically syncs data from within the integrated software with the annotation in SiteView and vice versa.
  • SiteView will now ask the user to confirm BIM transport if the user selects a BIM object made up of many smaller objects. This notifies the user that transporting multi-object BIMs will take some time to finish.
  • BIM transport is now disabled if Measure Ready for the capture area is not enabled.

Point Selection in SiteView/Capture Editor

  • The point selection method “Pick same point from two different panos” has been renamed as “Stereo Matching”.
  • When using Stereo Matching to select points for measurements, only panos within the same cluster can be used.

Report

  • Exported CSV Report files now display the full URL of the SiteView and markup thumbnail images instead of only a hyperlink.

Capture Editor

New Features

  • Added a new display option called Dynamic Rendering Mode. When enabled, pano rings within pano view are hidden when the user pans or rotates the camera in 3D or walkthrough mode, allowing for faster image rendering. Dynamic rendering also hides pano rings when dragging a cluster or reference plan. Dynamic Rendering Mode is located to the right of the Hide Reference Plan button.
  • Implemented "Calc Position by Matching Points" function, which is used to realign a pano. This function allows the user to pick a point in pano view and select a matching reference point from a 2D plane or floor, reference point, or from a sketch. The user matches two unique points in the pano to two corresponding reference points, and the pano is realigned with this information. To use "Calc Position by Matching Points”, make sure "Pano" is checked under the Selection Filter, click on the pano you want to realign, then on the Properties menu on the right click the fifth icon from the left on the row below Spin.
  • Added two new constraints types: Point to Horizontal Plane and Point to Vertical Plane. To apply these constraints, user must first select a point within the capture, then designate the horizontal or vertical plane the point should be located on.
  • Arrow keys now translate the position of clusters and panos. Formerly, keys IJKL were used for translation and arrow keys were used for rotation. SHIFT + R and SHIFT + E are used to rotate clusters and panos 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise, respectively.


Improvements

  • The Capture Editor now displays pano names truncated from the right. This helps display the unique portion of the pano names, which are located at the end.
  • You can now delete clusters in the Capture Editor. This action is not reversible. To delete a cluster, right click on the cluster, click Delete, then confirm with the Delete button. All panos within the cluster will be moved to the Unaligned pano grouping. You cannot delete subclusters or the Unaligned grouping.
  • When ft' in" is set as the preferred unit of measure, users can now copy and paste values with the units preserved.
  • The keyboard shortcut SHIFT + C/X, which is used to move to the next or previous pano, only switches to panos within the same cluster. Previously, SHIFT + C/X would move to panos in other clusters.


Bugfix

  • Fixed an issue where blurring is negated if a pano bubble was positioned over the blurred area. Now, blurring does not disappear when a pano bubble is over a blurred region.
